THE STORY OF MY WORKING FROM HOME
My name is Bryce.
I am in my 40s, and have had only two different full-time jobs in the 20+ years since I graduated from college. Neither of them has really paid very well or been the type of work that I wanted to do, but I felt it was necessary to stay there until I had something better. I have worked several part-time jobs on the side. I have also tried several different kinds of online businesses and online jobs before launching this blog. Most of my attempts were disastrous, but I have learned some important lessons from them that can help everyone seeking to do this.
I grew up seeing my parents try Multi-Level Marketing businesses, but they mostly just consumed the health products and didn’t do much in the way of selling, consequently they never made any money at it. One of the products did give my Mom a big energy boost but beyond that the experience was a total money sink.
With that in my background, several of my work-from-home business attempts also involved MLMs, because that was what I knew about. But the monthly cost of buying the product would have required me to do quite a bit of selling to pay for itself. But I had no knowledge of how to sell, and in some cases this was before the Internet really existed, so I had no one to sell to except for people that I knew in my own local environments.
I also had tried to run an online store, but I failed to find products that I could sell at a profit, so I never made a dime in that business either.
In December 2018 I decided to try working online again. First I tried various survey and task work sites, which don’t pay very well. I also joined some rewards programs where you earn money by spending money – again not very efficient, but it has helped a little. I even signed up to do some project work in audio transcription, which seemed promising, but I found the work to be too difficult and stopped doing it.
In January 2019 I bought an internet marketing product and started expanding my networks to get into selling of these products, but before I could get very far with it, I joined an online company that gave me quite a bit of training, mostly about Social Media, and I spent 4 months with them. I was pretty close to starting to make sales; the money in this was commission-only, and I got discouraged after a couple of people came very close to buying the training and then fell through at the last minute. I was also overextending my finances in order to continue my monthly payments, and it was taking up a lot of my time, so I felt I had no choice but to drop out. But I got to help coach other people and had a lot of great experiences with them.
Ever since I left that company in May 2019, I had been intending to get back into online business, and one of my goals was to start a blog as a business, but I didn’t know what I was going to write about. I didn’t want to waste any more money buying systems that weren’t going to work, but I knew about the free Starter account with Wealthy Affiliate, and I’m very glad I finally got into this system and got started!
WORKING FROM HOME SOLVES MANY PROBLEMS
Many people want to work from home – I hope to be a part of your solution. I have my own personal reasons for wanting to work from home, and I’m sure I’m not alone in these.
I hate driving in heavy traffic, which is a big part of the reason why I want to work from home. I also have some health challenges that make me very tired after working a shift and being on my feet for 8 hours. So I knew, if I did something else for extra income that it would have to be something I could do from home, sitting down at my computer.
For most of my life, I’ve been trying to figure out what type of work I really wanted to do, and now the technology exists that makes exploring possible types of work much easier. I intend to help others avoid the long years of uncertainty that I’ve had.
I’m also a bit introverted, and don’t like being in large groups of people. I like the distance that exists from being behind a screen. I’m pretty good at using computers, but if that’s a challenge for you I can certainly help you with that as well.
I’m very religious, and being of service to others is pretty important in my faith. I know that service to others is its own reward, but it’s also integral to the success of any business. Many other people have similar challenges. The bottom line is, no matter what your reasons are for wanting to work from home, I am here to help you.

The purpose of this site is to discuss different ways of working from home, and share my experience with them. I want to share information about what really works, and help you avoid the years of feeling financially tight, and vocationally unfulfilled that I have struggled with.
There are so many possible types of work out there, and the Internet technology creates so many opportunities, but many of us don’t know how to make use of this to achieve our own dreams.
I want you to know that you CAN realize your dreams, and I hope my writing will inspire and lead you to the achievement of this. Then I will consider that I have done a great service to my fellow humans.
